The game basketballs have arrived. Each program will receive 1 per team to be used as game balls. There were also 35 extra purchased if you would like to buy any for your program. Cost is $40 per ball. This is comparable to the Wilson ball that is $60. Let me know how you would like to get these.
League Fees are due prior to the start of the season. We will have our next meeting Wednesday November 29 and the league schedule should be completed by December 6th with games starting, for some programs, the week of December 18th. Fees are still $125 per varsity team and $75 per jv team. If you can’t make the meeting you can mail your check to:

SCRL Basketball 1st meeting Oct 18th Wednesday @ FOP in Pennsville 6:30. Please try to have someone in attendance from every participating program.
At our last meeting Woodstown had requested to add 1 boys and 1 girls 4th grade team to the SCRL program. It was voted down by all those in attendance. However it has been agreed upon that Woodstown can have these 2 teams on their own and can schedule non-conference games with any team willing to play them including any SCRL JV level team. These games will not count against your SCRL wins/loss record. Games can be scheduled at both teams discretion and referee fees will be the responsibility of the participants.
We currently do not have a secretary for the SCRL program. If you or someone you know are interested in the position, please contact any of the current officers or just attend our next meeting on November 15th at the FOP in Pennsville.
Our current by laws state:
- WINNING PERCENTAGE (division games only)
- LOTTERY NUMBER (drawn @ last pre-season meeting) or PLAY-IN GAME (only to determine the final seed in playoff).
- The new suggested order would be: 1. HEAD-TO-HEAD. WINNING PERCENTAGE THEN LOTTERY#/PLAY-IN GAME.
-If you’re program has a coach, or coaches, who are responsible for coaching more than 1 team, it would be helpful to have an assistant available to stand in for games. The biggest challenge facing the completion of the rural league schedule is trying to accommodate each individual conflict. We are aware that finding coaches is a difficult process. Some school-based programs may want to consider becoming a Rec program to maybe lighten the burden of finding qualified coaches.
-If your facility hosts a game, regardless of who is playing, you are responsible for the refs. You can use the door and concession monies to cover the cost.
